Online Services and NetID

The School of Public Health Office of Computing and Technology (OCT) services the technical needs of the Rutgers School of Public Health. The university provides each student with a free university email account.

Additionally, university policy requires that all students have a NetID. The NetID is Rutgers unique identifier, comprised of initials and a unique number (e.g., jqs23). The NetID is used to access many of the electronic services available to students at Rutgers, including online registration and email. It is the student's responsibility to activate and frequently monitor their Rutgers email accounts for time-sensitive announcements, such as weather updates and course cancellations. Students may find additional information regarding activating a NetID at https://netid.rutgers.edu/index.htm.

Problems related to a student's e-mail, NetID account, or other technical issues should be reported to the OCT at sphcomputing@ca.rutgers.edu or 732-235-3231. When calling, please leave a name and contact number where you can be reached by a support specialist.

Accessing Canvas
Canvas is a highly interactive, online learning environment used at Rutgers to support courses, research, and collaborations. Students can access their courses through Canvas at http://tlt.rutgers.edu/canvas and log in with their Rutgers NetID and password. Canvas Support is available 24/7 by calling 877-361-1134 or sending an email to help@canvas.rutgers.edu.
