33:799:301 Introduction to Supply Chain Management (3) A broad overview of business logistics processes and strategies. Topics include revenue management and pricing, logistics and distribution strategies, warehousing and order fulfillment, supply chain design and integration, supply chain software--MRP/ERP systems, procurement and outsourcing, and project management. Prerequisites: Rutgers Business School majors and minors only.
33:799:305 Procurement and Global Sourcing Strategy (3) Focuses on the fundamental tools, techniques, sourcing strategies, and processes used by world-class firms. Case studies are introduced to connect the course materials to the practices. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Open to major 799 or CERT 620. Not open to first year students.
33:799:310 Demand Planning and Fulfillment (3) Focuses on planning strategies and tools commonly used in business practices. Topics include demand forecasting, sales and operations planning (S&OP), inventory management, material requirement planning (MRP), and revenue management and pricing strategies. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Open to Supply Chain Management majors. Not open to first year students.
33:799:330 Business Logistics and Transportation (3) An introduction to the fundamentals of logistics and transportation. Examines the design of channels of distribution, management of inventory, evaluation of transportation alternatives, information flow, facility location, outsourcing logistics operations through third-party relationships, and the rapidly expanding field of logistics information technology. Explores the principles of transportation with emphasis on transportation modal and intermodal operations (rail, highway, air, water, and pipeline transportation) and transportation management. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Open to Supply Chain Management majors. Not open to first year students.
33:799:380 Introduction to Project Management (3) Introduction to the classical foundations of project management. Explores modern real-life project problems and key concepts of initiating, planning, organizing, controlling, and running a project, with particular emphasis on projects in the area of supply chain management. Extensive use of case studies.    Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Open to Supply Chain Management majors. Not open to first year students.
33:799:410 Service Management (3) Introduction to both the operational and marketing perspectives of service management. Explores the nature of services in the real business world. Covers key concepts of designing, managing, and supporting a service enterprise. Case studies and field trips are involved.   Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Open to Supply Chain Management majors. Not open to first year students.
33:799:420 SCMS Industry Client Projects (3) Gives a thorough understanding, firsthand knowledge, and working experience of industry supply chain management projects through team projects with real-life industry client contacts. Course is supplemented with guest lectures by distinguished executives and faculty on recent best practices and new challenges in the supply chain management field

33:799:421 Co-op in Supply Chain Management (3) Provides the opportunity to apply concepts learned in class to the work environment.
Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Open to Supply Chain Management majors -  juniors and seniors.
33:799:422 Elective Co-op in Supply Chain Management (3) Provides the opportunity to apply concepts learned in class to the work environment. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Open to supply chain management juniors and seniors by permission of the department.
33:799:430 Security and Risk Management (3) Provides a broad overview of key supply chain security areas and issues in the context of homeland security. Explores the need to protect the supply chain and maintain business continuity in the wake of high-consequence, disruptive events.   Prerequisites: 33:799:305 or 33:799:330. Open to Supply Chain Management majors. All except first-year students.
33:799:440 Supply Chain Environmental Management and Green Purchasing (3) After building a comprehensive knowledge of green supply chain and purchasing techniques, this course will allow students to participate in several applied research projects. Projects will include designing green supply chain and procurement systems and products, integrated with economic, environmental, social, and ethical considerations and corporate reporting. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Supply chain management majors only. All except first-year students.
33:799:450 Fundamentals of Supply Chain Solutions with SAP (3) Provides a foundation for understanding the process integration of businesswide functions supported by ERP systems, examines the benefits of implementing ERP, and investigates the guidelines for ERP system implementation and application. Introduces SAP ECC 6.0 to illustrate the basic concepts, capabilities, and advantages of ERP. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Supply Chain or BAIT majors only. All except first-year students.
33:799:455 Supply Chain Transformation in the Digital Era (3) This course focuses on the growing impact of technology, data, and online marketplaces on supply chain management. Students will receive hands-on training in Tableau, a best-in-class data visualization platform, and be exposed to multiple other real-world analytics tools demonstrated by industry experts. The class builds on hands-on learning by incorporating an excursion to Boxed.com's state-of-the-art warehouse in Union, New Jersey, where robots are more common than humans. By utilizing engaging teaching tactics geared toward millennial learning styles, this course encourages big picture thinking on global ecommerce trends while teaching specific technical skills that are highly-valued in today's job market. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Supply chain management majors only. All except first-year students.
33:799:460 Introduction to Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing (3) Provides fundamentals of six sigma, lean manufacturing, and tools and strategies to improve the performance of business processes. Case studies, team exercises, and simulations are utilized. Topics include six sigma improvement methodology and tools, lean-thinking tools and approaches, process mapping, dashboards, and other business improvement techniques. Emphasis is placed on the strategic importance of business improvement, the need for fact-based management, and how to deploy these tools in different parts of the value chain.

33:799:465 SpecialTopics: Blockchain & it's Application in Supply Chain Management (3) Blockchain technology in becoming increasingly more important as this technology, once associated primarily with financial transactions and cyber security, can provide value to an organization's supply chain through asset management, traceability, and information sharing.
Open to Supply Chain Management majors. Junior and senior status.
33:799:470 Business Intelligence for Supply Chains and Marketing (3) An overview of business intelligence in the field of supply chain management and marketing. Addresses how to leverage business intelligence systems to define KPIs, sharpen the accuracy of forecasting and planning, track business activities, and deliver dashboards, scorecards, strategic reporting, and operational/real-time reporting to enhance decision making for supply chain and marketing. SAP business intelligence solution is introduced to illustrate the concepts. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301.  Supply chain management majors only. All except first-year students.
33:799:475 Supply Chain Analytics Essentials (3) This course introduces the emerging area of integrating data analytics with supply chain management via tools such as Excel and Python. The course will demonstrate how analytics can be applied to various domains of a supply chain to generate significant social and economic impact. By the course end, students will practice the skills learned by doing a real-life data-driven project in supply chain management. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:700:301. Open to Supply Chain Management majors. All except first-year students.
33:799:490 Special Topics in Supply Chain Management: Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management (3) This course will introduce students to the logistical and regulatory issues that are part of overall supply chain management of global businesses. The course focuses on supply, sourcing, and distribution in an international environment, on managing global logistics, and on border processes including compliance with customs and trade conventions common around the world. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Junior or senior status. Supply chain management majors only.
33:799:491 Supply Chain Finance (3) Supply chain students will learn how corporate accounting, and the role of working capital, interrelate to supply chain actions and projects, as well as understand the scorecard of the CFO and how the supply chain can help achieve optimal financial health through effective strategies, investments, and product flows. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Supply chain management majors only. All except first-year students.
33:799:492 Special Topics: Pharma Strategy (3) The objective of this course is to provide students with the knowledge of pharmaceutical industry cost management structures, strategic sourcing processes, negotiation tactics, procurement processes and supply chain management  strategies. With shorter product lifecycles and worldwide rivalries increasing, much success depends on effective global supply management being able to deliver the right product to the right market at the right time under appropriate regulatory governance.
33:799:493 Internship in Supply Chain Management (3) Supervised involvement in a private, public, or nonprofit organization providing the student with an opportunity to apply concepts learned in a class to the work environment. 
Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301. Open to supply chain management majors by permission of the department.
33:799:495,496 Honors Program SCMS (3,3) Independent research and preparation of a written thesis under direction of a faculty member. Prerequisites: Open to supply chain management seniors in honors program only. Both semesters must be completed to receive credit.
33:799:498,499 Independent Study in SCMS (BA,BA) Individual research and/or reading program under the guidance of a member of the department. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 or 29:799:301 and permission of the department. Open only to supply chain management majors with junior or senior status.
