Educational Opportunity Fund
As part of their
financial aid package, recipients of an Educational Opportunity Fund
(EOF) grant have numerous academic services available. Trained
professionals are available to assist students in terms of personal,
academic, and financial problems related to attending college. In
addition to the counseling program, EOF offers free tutorial services
to students who may need support in basic academic skills or in more
advanced courses. Each summer, EOF offers a four- to six-week
precollege curriculum of developmental and/or credit-granting courses.
Regulations governing the Standards of Academic Progress further
provide eligible EOF students with up to 10 terms of New Jersey state
aid.
Student Support Services
In addition to
the EOF program, the university supports EOF-like students through its
U.S. Department of Education Student Support Services Program. Similar
services are provided for first generation and low-income students at
the university.
