The departmental honors program is a two-term course of study
intended for seniors who are both interested in and prepared for
intensive study of a particular topic and the preparation of a research
paper at least 50 pages in length. It may be undertaken in place
of a senior seminar. Students should have grade-point averages of
3.5 or better overall and in courses in history in order to be admitted
to the program. Approval must be obtained from the chairperson and the
member of the department who is to serve as the student's
adviser.
