Students preparing to enter medical, dental, or veterinary school
may do so by enrolling in any departmental program leading to a
baccalaureate degree. Unless a student's major program includes at
least 6 credits of physics, 6 credits of general biology, and 12
credits of chemistry, including organic chemistry, these should be
incorporated. This program can be completed only through daytime
attendance. Since some medical, dental, and veterinary schools require
courses in addition to those mentioned, students are advised to
familiarize themselves with the specific requirements of the schools to
which they apply. The AAMC Medical School Admission Requirements Guide,
available in the college library, is a valuable source book.
Medical, dental, and veterinary schools require that applicants take an
aptitude test as a part of the admissions procedure. Information about
these examinations may be obtained from any member of the premedical
community.
