Incoming students at Mason Gross School of the Arts can pursue a bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) degree in design. Students opting for the B.F.A. in design will develop innovative and
meaningful ways of communicating ideas in a wide range of concrete and dynamic
media. They will acquire skills in form-making, systems thinking, typography,
interaction, and data visualization, while shaping content and form in real-world situations. The program encourages a critical engagement with
contemporary culture, while equipping students for a lifetime of practice as a
designer in digital and/or print design. Our aim is for alumni to help shape
the future direction of design.
