11:015:100 Introduction to Making: Access to Tools (1) Introduces first-year SEBS students to the process of making objects that solve specific problems, using the tools available in an academic Makerspace. Students will identify specific individual or societal problems, design objects that address these problems, and make these objects through an iterative process. Students will gain experience using the tools available in the Cook campus Makerspace to make novel 2D (primarily planar) and 3D objects with defined functions that solve specific problems. First semester undergraduate at SEBS, including freshman and transfers.
11:015:112 Academic Mentoring (1) Development of study skills for matriculating freshman in their first semester.
11:015:113 Portals to Academic Success (1) Development of study skills for freshman in their second semester.
11:015:120 International Independent Study (BA) This course offers the opportunity to earn credit for internships carried out internationally. Students should consult with their major adviser or major program director.
11:015:205 Internship in the Life Sciences (3) This purpose of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to develop experience and knowledge regarding the expectations, qualifications, competencies, and responsibilities of professionals working within the life sciences through an internship experience with academic component. Students will integrate knowledge from their life science coursework to the internship experience, develop new skills, and reflect on their learning experience. Declared biological sciences majors or by special permission of the instructor. Cumulative GPA of 2.0.
11:015:230 Fundamentals of Agroecology (3) Introduction to concepts of agroecology, including human interactions with the environment, agricultural plants, and animal-plant interactions.
11:015:273 Wine Insights (1) This course is about the biology of wine, not about the marketing of wine. It covers grape growing, wine making, wine tasting techniques, wine and health issues, and wine and food matches. Prerequisites: 21 years of age and senior undergraduate
11:015:395 Exploring Graduate School (1) This course describes the basics of selecting, applying to, and attending graduate school. It will help students prepare a competitive application for admission to the graduate school of their choosing. Registration by special permission number only.
