Joint Bachelor/Medical Degree Programs

These programs, offered through the Division of Life Sciences in collaboration with Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, allow for specially selected premedical students early in their college career to begin medical or dental school courses while completing undergraduate courses and degrees. Students may apply to these programs in their sophomore year, and are selected and granted provisional admission into the medical or dental school at the conclusion of their fourth semester, with a second review of the student's credentials during the fourth year of the program.

Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick offers a joint bachelor/doctor of medicine (B.A./M.D.) program. This program is designed for high-achieving premedical students and gives them the opportunity to incorporate medical school courses into their undergraduate program of study in their junior and senior years.

New Jersey Medical School offers a seven-year bachelor/doctor of medicine (B.A./M.D.) program. This program is designed for high-achieving premedical students and gives them the opportunity to incorporate medical school courses into their undergraduate program of study in their senior year.

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine offers a joint bachelor/doctor of dental medicine (B.A./D.M.D.) degree program. This combined degree permits highly qualified students to complete the required courses for both baccalaureate and dental degrees in a seven-year sequence. It consists of three years of undergraduate study at Rutgers and four years of study in the D.M.D. degree program.

Rutgers School of Health Professions offers bachelor/master of science physician assistant program (B.A./M.S.). This program offers undergraduates an opportunity to enter the physician assistant program prior to their college graduation. This is a 3+3 program with the first three years spent as an undergraduate and the last three years spent in the professional graduate program.
