The Master of Public Health/Master of Business Administration dual-degree program is offered by Rutgers School of Public Health and Rutgers Business School. The program is designed to prepare students for administrative positions in the complex and evolving health care industry. This is a full-time or part-time program that requires the completion of up to 84 credits. Upon completion of the required coursework, students receive the Master of Public Health from the School of Public Health and the Master of Business Administration from Rutgers Business School.

If done full-time, the MBA curriculum is reduced from 60 to 48 credits while the part-time MBA is reduced from 49 to 40 credits. Applicants to the dual-degree program must take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and be approved for admission by both the School of Public Health and Rutgers Business School. Therefore, applicants for the M.P.H./MBA program should submit an application to each school. Course requirements for the M.P.H. include the five core courses (15 credits) and five required courses (15 credits) for the Health Systems and Policy Department. To view the MBA. curriculum, please click here.

Candidates for admission are baccalaureate graduates with a superior record of undergraduate performance and a commitment to health care management. Students must also achieve scores on the GMAT comparable to other Rutgers M.B.A. students.

Two or more years of management experience is preferable but not required.

Please note that students in this dual-degree program who would like to work with the RBS Office of Career Management in order to compete for MBA -level internships and full-time positions must do the M.P.H. in their first year and start the MBA in their second year.
