Head of digital services
Mr. Fang received his master's degree in computer science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and another master's degree in library and information science from Rutgers, where he specialized in digital libraries and information retrieval theory. While studying for his master's degrees, he was awarded a grant to design and build a high-resolution scanner useful for digitizing books and microform images. He also holds a B.S. degree from Kean University where he majored in computer science and minored in mathematics. Prior to joining the law library, Mr. Fang worked as a programmer for the Rutgers Center for Molecular and Behavioral Science. His research interests include digital library, digital preservation, information retrieval, interface design, and semantic web. He has served on the NJLLA's archive committee, technology committee, and the executive board. He is also a member of the AALLc and served on its communication and publicity committee as the chair.
