In
addition to academics and professional development, the Honors College
community offers students many engaging opportunities in the areas of
service and fun. Students can meet their required service hours through
several HC Serves planned events throughout the year, including food insecurity
projects, cleanup days, participation in the Rutgers Dance Marathon, school supply packaging for elementary school children, among many other projects. Students also enjoy
activities such as the coffeehouse performances, semi-formals, and barbecues, as well as
events that are both educational and fun such as the annual Geek Week
event--with past themes such as Star Wars and Harry Potter--where speakers
give lectures in their areas of expertise (e.g., potions chemistry,
religion in Harry Potter, etc.) as related to the event's theme.
