Departmental Honors Program

To qualify for the departmental honors program, the student must have completed at least 18 credits in labor studies. The student must also have attained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 or better in the major at the end of the junior year. At that time the student should formally apply to the program director. Candidates who are accepted are required to complete a research project under the direction of a faculty member, culminating in a written honors paper, and are examined orally on their project by a faculty honors committee.
