Distinguished Army ROTC students are so designated at the beginning of their senior year by the professor of military science on the basis of high scholarship, evidence of high moral character, military aptitude, and demonstrated leadership ability. Distinguished military graduates are those who rank in the top 20 percent of Army ROTC graduates nationwide, as determined by the national Order of Merit Listing (OML).
