16:709:506 Nutritional Aspects of Disease (3) Advanced study of pathophysiological aspects of disease states and the relation to nutrition. Prerequisites: 16:709:552,553.
16:709:515 Principles of Nutrition Research (3) Advanced topics in metabolic regulation including principles of experimental design as applied to nutrition research.  Emphasis on the development of research proposals. Prerequisites: 16:709:552,553.

Regulatory mechanisms, developmental changes, and species differences that influence the requirements and metabolism of nutrients. Effect of nutrient supply on metabolism at the molecular, cellular, and systemic levels, including special metabolic needs during growth, reproduction, stress, and senescence in animals and humans.
