Students who
wish to enroll in a graduate or a 100- through 400-level undergraduate course
without receiving credit may do so if they secure the advance approval of their
advisers. At registration, indicate "not-for-credit" status by
placing the symbol N in the appropriate column on the registration form.
Students must pay the normal graduate tuition fee for the course and fulfill
the same requirements during the semester
as all other students,
including the execution of any
written assignments. Students must perform all the
assigned work; however, they may not take the final examination. A grade of S
(satisfactory) or U (unsatisfactory) is assigned. The course and letter
grade are included on each student's record, but no credit toward a degree is
given. See also Grades and Records later in this
chapter for information regarding credit prefixes.
