Clinical Component


All students in the initial teacher preparation program must complete 14 credits of clinical work along with 6 credits of a clinical practice seminar. The clinical component consists of three phases, the initial clinical experience (clinical experience phase 1), and two semesters of clinical practice (clinical practice phase 1 and phase 2). The clinical practice seminar is taken during the second semester of clinical practice.

For students in the five-year initial teacher preparation program the clinical component is comprised of the following courses:

05:300:201  Introduction to Education Field Based Lab - Clinical Experience (.5 credits)

05:300:498  Clinical Experience Phase 1 (.5 credits)

05:300:499  Clinical Practice Phase 2 (4 credits)

15:255:535  Clinical Practice Phase 3 (9 credits)

15:255:532  Clinical Practice Phase 3 Seminar (6 credits)


For students in the post-baccalaureate initial teacher preparation program the clinical component is comprised of the following courses:

15:255:530  Clinical Experience Phase 1 (1 credit)

05:300:499  Clinical Practice Phase 2 (4 credits)

15:255:535  Clinical Practice Phase 3 (9 credits)

15:255:532  Clinical Practice Phase 3 Seminar (6 credits)
