Rutgers University-Camden does not offer a pharmacy program.
We offer a "prepharmacy track," and Rutgers-Camden prepharmacy students are able to apply to transfer to pharmacy schools (such as the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University-New Brunswick) for the third year and on. However this is on a competitive basis, and there is not a guarantee of acceptance.
Requirements for different pharmacy schools vary, so students are encouraged to research the requirements for every school they eventually wish to apply to.
For the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in New Brunswick, the requirements include: 50:120:101,102 General Biology I, II; 50:120:107 General Biology I Laboratory; 50:160:115-116 Chemical Principles; 50:160:125-126 Chemical Principles Laboratory; 50:350:101-102 English Composition; 50:640:121 Unified Calculus; and 50:960:183 Elementary Applied Statistics. The second year includes: 50:160:335-336 Organic Chemistry and labs 339-340; 50:220:105 Microeconomic Principles; 50:750:203-204 and 205-206 General Physics and Laboratory; human physiology; and 6 credits in the humanities or social sciences. This program can be completed only through daytime attendance.
The university's Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in New Brunswick admits students directly from high school. Students already admitted to the pharmacy school have the option of taking the first two years of academic work in Camden.
