The physics department maintains a strong honors program. Senior majors with a 3.0 average overall and 3.3 in physics and mathematics are urged to enroll in the departmental honors program. Honors students must take two honors seminars. Typically, this will involve a year of studies on a research topic assigned by a faculty member. Successful completion of the honors requirements entitles the student to graduate with Honors in Physics, which is recorded on the student`s transcript. Dr. Roger Cowley is the departmental honors adviser.
