Probation
Students enrolled in the graduate
degree programs must earn grades of "B" or better in their coursework. Students
who earn two grades below a B or one grade of "F" are automatically placed on
probation.
Three grades below "B" or one grade of "F" automatically initiates a
review of the academic record and will initiate to the student written notification of
probationary standing. This will lead to required consultation between the student and their Academic Advisor and/or Associate Dean for Graduate Programs or the Program Director, regarding immediate remedy and agreed upon plan to improve the student's grade point average (see Course Repeat policy for guidelines).
Dismissal
Additional probationary semesters (to those noted above) may lead to a
dismissal from the program.
If a student is dismissed from the program based on the above, a student may petition the Scholastic Standing
Committee for readmission to the program.
Graduation requirements:
A student cannot graduate with
either three or more grades of C (including C+) or a single grade of F on their
record. An overall cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 is required for
graduation.
