The Graduate School-Camden supports students in the general pursuit of their study, research, creative interest, and career path through a number of schoolwide resources. These are available to all students regardless of program.
Writing Support
Students who find themselves in need of writing support can count on librarians, a dedicated Graduate Assistant, and more.
Writing Graduate Assistant.
A Graduate Assistant, housed out of the Graduate School Building at 211 N. 5th Street, Camden, NJ, is dedicated to the sole support of writing assistance for graduate students, regardless of programming. This Graduate Assistant helps students with everything from thesis statements to general capstone/thesis planning timelines.
Librarian Support.
Librarians support graduate students specifically in finding resources relevant to their study and in understanding proper citation protocol. These librarians regularly hold workshops and collaborate with the Graduate School to ensure that graduate students have continued access to their support.
Professional Development
Graduate students can find a number of professional development opportunities through the Graduate School-Camden.
Career Center & Handshake.
The Career Center is the central office to Rutgers-Camden that helps with all methods of career development -- including, but not limited to, resume review, cover letter review, mock interviewing, and more. They also operate Handshake, a platform dedicated to advertising job/internship opportunities.
Professional Development Week.
Each year, the Graduate School-Camden hosts a Professional Development Week, which includes a mix of programming designed to allow graduate students to network with each other, hone their public speaking skills, and more. This week also re-integrates the campus's offices and puts them in close touch with graduate students through drop-in hours, graduate student-specific events, and more.
Funding Opportunities.
Graduate students in need of grant support for a specific project may find help through a robust central resource at the Graduate School -- with saved materials on navigating GradFund and other grant portals -- and through the Office of Scholarly Development and Fellowship Advising (OSDFA).
OSDFA.
As of Fall 2023, the OSDFA is an invaluable resource dedicated to helping students optimize their fellowship (and other grant) applications. Staff here will walk students through processes such as the Fulbright, and ensure they feel confident with their applications.
