Competencies - Biostatistics
Each concentration identifies competencies for each degree offered. These competencies reflect the full range of knowledge, skills, and other attributes that a student will acquire as a result of completing the requirements for a particular degree.
Upon graduation, a student completing the Ph.D. in Public Health curriculum in Biostatistics will be able to:
- PhD-BIST1: Apply new and existing probability and statistical models to address biomedical, clinical, or public health research problems;
- PhD-BIST2: Use statistical computer packages to organize, analyze and report collected data; and
- PhD-BIST3: Communicate the results of statistical studies both orally and in writing to senior statisticians and other investigators.
