Center for Public Health Workforce Development
From ensuring clean environments to safe work spaces, the Rutgers School of Public Health's Center for Public Health Workforce Development supports public health professionals in their mission to prevent disease and promote health across communities and populations.
The Center for Public Health Workforce Development offers robust continuing education opportunities, providing critical support and information to those on the front lines of natural and man-made disasters, pandemics, and other threats to community health. We help ensure workers have the skills and knowledge they need to stay safe at work, at home, and in their communities.
The Rutgers School of Public Health's Center for Public Health Workforce Development provided training to approximately more than 20,000 professionals annually. The Center offers over 230 continuing education short-courses that address topics such as asbestos, lead, hazardous waste, occupational safety, environmental health, air pollution, and other important public health topics. The courses are held in modern classrooms and a hands-on workshop room or remotely. The classes, instructed by experts in their fields, are structured to be small enough to allow active discussion and personal attention, yet large enough to provide a diversified group of participants.
