The 18-credit graduate certificate program in leadership of public organizations provides students a focus on human resources topics, including best practice policy; diversity and inclusion; management and leadership techniques; and a comprehensive review of all local, state, and federal policies that govern employment and employment practices.
Applicants for the nonprofit management certificate may take courses simply by completing the graduate application and selecting 20834S, Public Administration-Leadership and Administration Certificate, within the nondegree option.
Students completing the certificate should notify the Student and Academic Services staff, who will verify that the certificate courses have been completed, and issue the certificate. Certificate courses completed with a grade of B or better may be used for the M.P.A. degree, should a student elect to apply to the degree program. If a certificate student elects to matriculate into the M.P.A. degree program, the admission application must be completed before the student may become matriculated.
