The certificate program in budgeting and financial management provides an opportunity for precareer and in-career students to earn an 18-credit graduate certificate in the area of public and nonprofit budgeting and financial management. This concentrated area of study prepares students wishing to enter a nonprofit or public sector financial management position, or those seeking upward mobility in this career track.
Applicants for the budgeting and financial management certificate may take courses simply by completing the graduate application and selecting 20834Q, Public Administration-Budgeting and Financial Management Certificate, within the nondegree option. Students completing the certificate should notify the Student and Academic Services staff, who will verify that the certificate courses have been completed, and issue the certificate.
Certificate courses completed with a grade of B or better may be used for the M.P.A. degree, should a student elect to apply to the degree program. If a certificate student elects to matriculate into the M.P.A. degree program, the admission application must be completed before the student may become matriculated.
