Students who wish to enroll in a graduate course or a 100- through
400-level undergraduate course and perform all the assigned work
without receiving credit may do so if they secure the advance approval
of the graduate program director or the associate dean of academic and
student services. When students register, they must indicate
"not-for-credit" status during the online registration process.
Students must pay the normal tuition fee for the course and fulfill the
same requirements as all other students during the term, including the
execution of any written assignments. At the end of the term, however,
they may not take the final examination, and a grade of S
(satisfactory) or U (unsatisfactory) is assigned. The course and
the letter grade are included on each student's record, but no credit
is given toward a degree.
