Students are required to complete 18 credits in electives. Electives may be satisfied through elective courses, internships, practicum, and courses outside of the master of communication and information studies (M.C.I.S.) program (as long as the number of transferred coursework and outside electives does not equal more than 6 credits). Students are restricted to 6 credits of internship in fulfilling their elective course requirements. M.C.I.S. Fellows may apply 9 credits of internship in fulfilling their elective course requirements.
