The following course of study has been approved by the New Jersey
Department of Education to meet certification requirements for becoming a school
library media
specialist when combined with either a valid teaching certificate,
proof of completion of a teacher preparation program, or proof of
completion of an
approved sequence of three courses in education for school librarians.
The Professional Development Studies program at the School of
Communication and Information offers an approved
sequence of education courses to meet the state requirements.
