Specializations
Within the framework of fulfilling the requirements
for lead and central courses, it is possible for students with
particular interests to select a specialization within the master of library and information science program. Note that students are not required to select a
specialization.
Students should discuss their interests and plan
of study with their adviser. If a specialization is chosen, there is no
application or admission process in advance; the student should just
select courses in the program accordingly. As
part of the process of applying
for graduation, students will complete a form (online) declaring their
specialization and listing the courses
taken in fulfillment of it. If the student declares a specialization
and has fulfilled the requirements for it, the specialization will be
recorded on the student's transcripts.
