There has never been a more exciting time for individuals with scholarly and professional interests in the interdisciplinary study of communication, journalism and media, and library and information science.
The School of Communication and Information offers both undergraduate and graduate programs that enable students to develop specialized competence within the larger context of our interdisciplinary approach to communication, media, and library and information science. Information about our undergraduate programs can be found in the Rutgers–New Brunswick Undergraduate Catalog. This catalog focuses on our two master's programs--one in library and information science and one in communication and information studies; our interdisciplinary Ph.D. program; and our nondegree certificates.
Students who enter our programs work with faculty members who are internationally recognized scholars and teachers and with talented and dedicated support staff so that they can achieve their greatest potential. As a
result, graduates of our programs are placed in excellent positions, both nationally and internationally, in academic, business, and
industrial settings. Please read the catalog, visit us both in person
and at our website comminfo.rutgers.edu,
and ask current students and alumni about our programs. I believe that
you will find us to be a community of scholars who enjoy and excel at
educating individuals who make lasting contributions to the
interdisciplinary study of communication, media, and library and
information science.
Best,
