Courses of Study

The program of study a student follows varies considerably depending upon his or her specific interests and abilities. A student may choose many paths toward degree completion and therefore should discuss the  options with an adviser or an academic dean. It is possible--sometimes recommended--to take fewer credits in the first semester depending on work hours or extracurricular activities.

Students should frequently--and early in their academic career--consult with an adviser regarding their academic progress, the completion of all requirements, and plans for graduate study or professional work. Before graduation, the the major department must certify to the faculty and the dean that the student has satisfactorily met the requirements for the major.
