History and Literature


University College-Newark's learning objectives call for effective written and oral communication, effective reading, multiple modes of inquiry, an understanding of intercultural relations, and an ability to address major questions of our time. All students must therefore complete 9 credits in history and literature.

This requirement must be fulfilled with three 3-credit courses. At least one of these three courses must be chosen from a list of approved courses offered by the Department of History; at least one must be chosen from a list of approved courses offered by either the Department of English or the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies. The third course must be chosen from a list of approved courses offered by any of these departments.
