Business Forum (Professional Development) (2)
A 14-week course designed to build students' career awareness, business communication abilities, and the understanding of how to
use research tools. The learning outcome is that students will leverage all the course content to become high-performance candidates in a competitive job market. The material covered is relevant to every business student, regardless
of major or career objective. Explores key concepts, techniques, and resources students can use immediately to influence the next step in their careers and be successful in any postgraduation employment situation.
There are three components to the course: 1) business communications, consisting of lectures to learn how to edit work, gather and organize data, overcome writer's block to attain better results, and gain key public speaking techniques; 2) career management, consisting of lectures demonstrating how to create a proactive career management future; and 3) research, consisting of lectures to build skills in reading and understanding complex
market data relevant to academic major projects or in professional environments.
This course is writing intensive.
