The requirements for a concentration in Spanish language and literatures are the following:
1. 30 credits in Spanish language and literatures, which may include 21:940:131,132 Intermediate Spanish (or equivalent preparation as demonstrated by proficiency examination). Any of the Spanish language and literature courses numbered 200 or higher may be taken to satisfy this requirement, with the exception of literature in English translation.
2. 9 credits in other courses within the department, at least 3 of which must be in literature in the original language or in translation
3. 6 credits from one or more of the following as approved by an adviser: English literature courses numbered higher than 215, 216; philosophy; music history; art history; and history and classics
