Minors must complete a total of 24 credits (typically eight courses) with a grade of C or better to qualify for the minor in sociology. Minors must complete at least one course in social theory, either Classical Social Theory (Sociology 409) or Contemporary Social Theory (Sociology 415). Among the remaining 21 credits at least 18 credits (typically six courses) must be in sociology. Up to 3 credits (typically one course) may be taken in anthropology, criminal justice, economics, psychology, political science, or social work with the explicit approval of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.
