Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Curriculum

Teachout starting Fall 2024

The Post-Baccalaureate Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Program is based at the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences Campus in Newark, NJ. Graduates are eligible for certification to practice as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in the State of New Jersey with prescriptive authority. Graduates are eligible to take the women's health certification exam, which is administered by the National Certification Corporation (NCC).

Curriculum: The Post-Baccalaureate DNP Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Program is 72-credits with 630 precepted practicum hours.

In addition to the successful completion of the above course requirements, all DNP students must meet all the DNP project requirements set forth by the program.

*A student who does not complete their DNP project during the project-related courses will be registered for a 1-credit project continuation course in subsequent semesters until the project is complete.

The minimum number of combined clinical practicum and DNP project experience hours is 1000. Students, however, may be required to complete more than 1000 hours to meet minimum competency requirements for graduation and certification (when applicable).
