Transfer Credit from Institutions other than Rutgers

A student who has transferred from another institution may receive degree credit only for those courses that are equivalent in content and credit to courses in the Rutgers curriculum and passed with the equivalent of a Rutgers grade of C or better. Courses at New Jersey community colleges that are equivalent to Rutgers University courses can be found at http://www.njtransfer.org.

Transfer for professional pharmacy courses will only be accepted from institutions accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Such courses must be reviewed and approved by the appropriate department at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. Current students should consult with the Office of Academic Services in William Levine Hall, Room 277A/B, before registering for another course at another university. Students attempting to transfer from the professional years of another pharmacy school should be aware that due to differences in curricular requirements and sequencing among pharmacy schools, placement into the same professional year may not be possible and graduation may take one or more additional semesters.

Transfer credit from other institutions is never included in the student's cumulative grade-point average at Rutgers. This regulation applies both to transfer credit granted at the time of admission to the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and to any summer or special work taken at other institutions while the student is a candidate for a Rutgers degree. Transfer credit is never given for correspondence courses of any kind. Whether or not transfer credit is requested, the school requires an official transcript of all work done by a student at any other institution of higher learning.
