Students enrolled in the exercise science and sport studies major must complete an internship during their senior year. The internship provides the students with the opportunity to practice and/or apply knowledge and skills in various professional environments.
Students must satisfy the following criteria to be eligible to enter an internship: (1) complete a minimum of 90 credits with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0, and (2) complete a minimum of 20 credits in the major, with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0 for all required courses listed for the particular option in the major.
Students are required to attend a pre-internship
meeting the semester before their eligibility to obtain departmental permission
as well as attend a course meeting prior to the start of their hours.
