Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management
The bachelor of arts (B.A.) in human resource management is a joint degree from the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) and the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS).
Major Requirements
Students who are in good academic standing are eligible to declare the human resource management (HRM) major through the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. The major consists of a total of 42 credits:
a. 27 of which are to be taken from within the human resource management curriculum (a minimum of six HRM courses [37:533] are required; seven for the HRM Honors Program).
b. 9 credits from a list of related courses from other programs.
c. 6 credits from a list of applicable quantitative courses (the lists of these courses are provided on our website).
Introduction to Human Resource Management (37:533:301) is a prerequisite for the human resource management B.A. program. Students must achieve a grade of C or better in this course before the major is declared. Grades of C or better must be earned in all courses used to fulfill the requirements of the human resource management major.
