ROTC is a leadership and management development program designed to commission Second
Lieutenants in the U.S. Army. The
Rutgers ROTC Scarlet Knight Battalion recruits, develops, trains, and mentors
confident, physically fit, adaptive cadets who are prepared for successful
leadership positions as Second Lieutenants in the Active Duty Army, National
Guard, or Reserves. The program consists of 21-24 credits: 18-21 credits of military education courses taken over eight semesters, plus a department-approved course
