The Department of Art History offers a five-week summer program of study in Rome, Italy. Two courses 01:082:339-340 (3,3) are offered. The subject matter varies to take full advantage of the monuments and museums of Rome through on-site teaching.
The Department of Art History's Cultural Heritage and Preservation Studies (CHAPS) offers a five-week summer program of study in Athens, Greece. Two courses 01:082:404-405 (3,3) are offered and combine a 3-credit course that explores the city's rich cultural past and vibrant present with a 3-credit internship at one of Athens' major museums or cultural institutions or archaeological fieldwork.
The Department of Germanic, Russian, and East European Languages and Literatures and the Department of Italian, in collaboration with the Department of Art History, offer art history courses as part of their summer programs in Holland, Germany, and Italy. Much of the teaching is done on site.
