Visual arts majors in the bachelor of arts (B.A.) degree program are required to complete a total of 42 credits as follows:
Foundation Courses (28 credits)
Drawing Fundamentals I-A and I-B 121-122 (4,4)
Introduction to Art History 105 and 106 (3,3)
Seminar in Contemporary Art A and B 200-201 (3,3)
Visual Thinking I-A and I-B 227-228 (4,4)
Studio Electives (12 credits)
Visual Arts Practice (2 credits Pass/Fail)
Each student plans a cohesive program of study with faculty and staff advisers.
Dual majors and special interdisciplinary degree programs that include the visual arts should be arranged through the School of Arts and Sciences and the visual arts faculty and staff advisers.
Bachelor of arts students who desire to major in art must submit a portfolio and transcripts for review by the Visual Arts Evaluation Committee for acceptance into the program.
