EOF Summer Institute Program

The EOF Summer Institute Program is a six-week, residential, academically intensive, assessment and orientation program for admitted eligible incoming first-year students. All students who are admitted to the university through the OSP program are required to attend this Summer Institute. During the six-week period, students participate in a series of academic, career exploration, and counseling activities. The aim of the program is to facilitate the transition from high school to college and assist students with identifying their academic strengths and weaknesses. Recognizing that personal and social factors impact student success, the institute serves to prepare students for the challenges of a competitive college environment. Students will participate in a rigorous academic course schedule to include: English, mathematics, computing applications, and skills-building seminars.

The Summer Institute is free for eligible students, with eligibility determined via the admissions process. For students admitted to the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences through the Office of Special Programs, failure to attend the Summer Institute may result in the university rescinding  the students' admission to the college. Students who wish to apply to the program must complete the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FASFA). This application is available online at:  http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
