Arnold B. Rabson, Director

The Child Health Institute of New Jersey (CHINJ) was established by the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School with the mission of performing research of extraordinary quality focused on understanding the causes and mechanisms of childhood diseases and the translation of research discoveries into prevention, treatment, and cure. CHINJ investigators are performing research in the following areas: 1) inflammation, immunity, and infection; 2) neurodevelopment and autism; 3) pediatric cancers and stem cell biology; and 4) childhood obesity and metabolism. The CHINJ is part of a larger biomedical research program that includes the neighboring Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital, The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, and the soon-to-be-established Cardiovascular Institute of New Jersey. Together, these institutions form a unique constellation of research, clinical, and preventive services in support of all aspects of children's health and development.
