It is the policy of the university to excuse without penalty students who are absent because of religious observances and to allow the makeup of work missed because of such absence. Examinations and special required out-of-class activities are not ordinarily scheduled on those days when these students refrain from participating in secular activities. A student absent from class because of required religious observances will be excused without penalty and will be given an opportunity to make up that examination without penalty.
