Office of Special Programs

The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences Office of Special Programs (OSP) provides the opportunity for economically and academically challenged students to gain access to the university, achieve academic success, and hone their skills to ensure their ability to compete within a global market. Within a competitive university environment, OSP administers three distinct programs: the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Summer Institute Program, Academic Year Support Program, and the Solid GEMS (General Education in Mathematics and Science) Program. In addition to these university-based programs, through an ongoing partnership with Yale University, OSP serves as the vehicle through which Rutgers–New Brunswick students interested in research will partake in the Yale Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program.

Inquiries about the Office of Special Programs at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences should be addressed to Dean Frager Foster, Assistant Dean for Special Programs, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, 88 Lipman Drive, New Brunswick, NJ 08901-8525 (732-932-3000, ext. 530).
