The Student Wellness Program (SWP) is a free, confidential counseling
service that helps students deal effectively with stressors and other
pressures related to school, as well as personal problems that might impact
one's academic performance (e.g., problems within one's home, social/personal,
or academic setting). Students' concerns are addressed through a variety of SWP services including short-term, focused counseling for students
and members of their household; prevention oriented groups and workshops;
assessment and referral for specialized substance abuse treatment; and crisis
intervention.
Services address issues such as:
-
coping skills
-
eating disorders
-
psychiatric issues in conjunction with substance
use/abuse
-
different types of anxiety
-
depression
-
relationship concerns
Psychiatric and psychological services are completely confidential and include:
-
Short-term, focused counseling for students and members of their household
