The School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) offers a variety of continuing education programs for professionals. Here are some examples:
Rutgers
Center for HR and Leadership Development (CHRLD)
develops and delivers innovative training and development solutions that strengthen and advance the individual, workforce, and organization as a whole. The center provides a rich learning environment through a powerful combination of expert class instruction and peer interaction, led by distinguished Rutgers University faculty, thought leaders, and industry experts. Program participants may earn certificates, continuing education credits, and academic graduate credit from Rutgers. Programs are offered in-person, online, and in hybrid formats ranging from half-day workshops to weeklong programs and more. In addition, the center offers custom-designed programs, tailored to meet individual clients and organizational needs.
Labor Education and Research Now (LEARN)
offers a wide range of noncredit and continuing education training programs for union members and management representatives, as well as the organizations and professions that are associated with these groups. LEARN students are emerging leaders across the state of New Jersey who want to enhance their personal knowledge and workplace skills. The men and women enrolled in LEARN programs are as diverse as the industries in which they work, including building trades, education, safety, customer service, telecommunications, health care, and government. LEARN also offers a Public Sector Labor-Management Relations Certificate Program that is jointly sponsored by the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) and SMLR. All courses are taught by Rutgers University faculty, PERC staff, and experienced labor-management professionals. The classes are open to all interested members of the public sector labor-management community. Participants will earn an Achievement Certificate from Rutgers University.
