Undergraduate Study


After applying to the program and being accepted, students may enroll in the bachelor of arts (B.A.) in labor studies and employment relations degree program. This major is designed to prepare students for jobs in a variety of labor or community organizations, neutral agencies, and corporations. Many graduates of the B.A. program go on to law school, to professional human resources or labor relations programs, or to graduate school.

Undergraduate Minor In Human Resources.  Beginning in the spring 2009 semester, a minor in human resources will be available to Rutgers undergraduates. The complete minor will consist of the following courses: Introduction to Human Resource Management (37:533:301); Staffing (37:533:311); Training and Development (37:533:312); Compensation (37:533:313); Legal Aspects of HRM (37:533:314); Global HRM (37:533:315); and Special Topics in HRM (37:533:321).
