Customized Concentrations
Customized concentrations are available on a case-by-case basis, subject to course availability and the approval of the relevant department chair and master of business administration (M.B.A.) program director. Arts Management Concentration (15 credits)
For a concentration in arts management, take three of the following courses
and complete an internship with a recognized area nonprofit organization.

- 22:373:618 Business and the Arts
- 22:373:620 Fundraiser and Resource Development for Arts Nonprofits
- 22:373:624 Foundations of Entrepreneurship
- 22:630:644 Marketing for Arts Nonprofit

About the Business and the Arts Program
Business and the arts is a program of Rutgers Business School: Graduate
Programs-Newark and New Brunswick (RBS). M.B.A.-level courses are offered in arts
marketing, arts fundraising, financial accounting for arts nonprofits, and
organization management. M.B.A. candidates may elect a formal concentration in arts management, which is designed to prepare students for careers in nonprofit arts
administration. Undergraduate-level courses are offered through RBS and the Rutgers Department of Visual and Performing Arts.
Business and the arts also:
- Sets up internships with such groups as the Newark Museum, New Jersey
Symphony Orchestra and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of
State
- Provides career counseling in arts management
- Gives students opportunities to visit local museums, galleries and art
studios
- Sponsors attendance at concerts and performances given by local theaters,
orchestras, and dance and musical groups
- Emphasizes the vital role played by corporate support to local and regional
arts organizations
About GlassRoots
Through the business and the arts program, Rutgers is teaching
entrepreneurship to disadvantaged inner city youth in Newark and helping
contribute to the city's renaissance. GlassRoots has been established as a new
non-profit that teaches glass blowing, design and business skills to children
