Rutgers Business School: Graduate Programs-Newark and New Brunswick 2009-2011 Degree Programs Graduate Accounting Programs Master of Accountancy in Financial Accounting Advanced Standing

Advanced Standing

A student may receive 2 credits for every 3 credits of undergraduate upper-division coursework completed with a B or better in business core areas of study, as well as such other courses as economics, information technology, and advanced statistics, up to a maximum of 9 credits which are subject to the following conditions:

  1. Courses must have been completed at an institution accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB).
  2. Advanced standing must be authorized by the program director.

Advanced standing reduces the number of required credits from 30 to 21. Students who enter the program with less than 129 undergraduate credits and wish to meet the 150 hour requirement to be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant will be required to take additional courses either at Rutgers or at an AACSB International-accredited institution of his or her choice.
